Remosa will design and manufacture the new valve (height 3,400 mm, width 1,800 mm, length 4,650 mm; inlet ID 1,367 mm, outlet IDs 1,035 and 1,535 mm.). The valve currently in operation - hot wall design - was originally manufactured by a Japanese competitor. The new valve will be operated by the existing actuating system. (November 6, 2001)
Two more Remosa-manufactured valves will be installed at RPC's Concon refinery, Chile. This recently issued order is for a two-port diverter valve, pendulum type, cold wall design (inlet/outlet 1760 mm), and a regenerated catalyst slide valve, cold wall design, inlet and outlet 914 mm. UOP process for both valves, Foster Wheeler Iberia is the engineering contractor. (October 8, 2001)

AGIP spa of Italy received from Remosa three new valves ordered earlier this year. A spent catalyst and a regenerated catalyst slide valves will be installed at Gela refinery. The third one - a 304H stainless steel two-port diverting valve - was requested for the Sannazzaro de' Burgondi FCC unit. Another valve, a spent catalyst slide, has been shipped to Shell's Berre refinery in France. This order was also completed according to schedule. (October 3rd, 2001)
Remosa received an order from PdVSA for a regenerated catalyst slide valve, hot wall design, inlet 855 mm and outlet 1099 mm. The new valve will replace an existing one (by a Japanese manufacturer) at Judibana refinery. (October 3rd, 2001)
Remosa received and order from AGIP S.p.A. of Italy for one expander by-pass butterfly valve (ID 762 mm) and one expander inlet butterfly valve (ID 1320.8 mm), to be installed at Sannazzaro refinery. Bafco will supply the actuators. (August 18, 2001)
Petrox S.A. of Chile ordered a new flue gas double disc slide valve (inlet/outlet ID 1100 mm, height 1800 mm). This valve will use two Bafco actuators already supplied through Remosa. (August 18, 2001)
It will be the biggest flue gas double disc slide valve in operation - over 32 tons, height 4.575 m, ID 3,352 mm, with 140 mm stems and 200 mm actuators. Remosa will design and manufacture it for Petrobras' REVAP plant, in São José dos Campos, SP, Brazil. Actuators will be provided by Blac, Inc. Remosa received another order from Petrobras regarding one actuator for an existing regenerated catalyst slide valve at the REGAP refinery (inlet ID 20", outlet ID 24"). Blac Inc. is the selected supplier. (August 10, 2001)
Remosa will design and manufacture three new valves, Exxon Process, for PdVSA's Judibana refinery:
Actuators will be supplied by MEA Inc. of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA. (August 3rd, 2001)
Remosa won a contract to design and manufacture seven FCC valves (Foster Wheeler process) for Tamoil's refinery in Collombey, Switzerland. The order includes:
(August 1st, 2001)
UOP ordered a new regenerated catalyst slide valve (inlet/outlet diameter 1,300 mm) for the MSCC unit at Slavneft's Mozyr refinery, Belarus. The actuator will be supplied by Bafco Inc. of Warminster, PA, USA. This order also includes a regenerated spool piece and follows a four valve order received by Remosa at the end of 2000. (August 1st, 2001)
Remosa is currently reconditioning six stems and one disc from six valves operating at La Rábida refinery, in Palos de la Frontera, Huelva (Spain). The new order from CEPSA followed a recent on-site maintenance intervention by Remosa. (May 25, 2001)
Remosa has secured an order from Petrobras to design and manufacture a new spent catalyst slide valve (inlet metal ID 622 mm, outlet metal ID 572 mm), with actuator, for the REGAP refinery in Betim, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Remosa will also provide a new positioning system for an existing regenerated catalyst slide valve, originally by a competing manufacturer. (May 23, 2001)
Remosa will design and manufacture six slide valves for the Syncrude Upgrader Expansion 1 Project in northern Alberta, Canada. These valves are part of a new Fluid Coker to be built at Syncrude's oil sands complex at Fort McMurray, AB.
The order includes:
All valves will be designed to Exxon specifications. Actuators will be supplied by Blac, Inc. - Black Limited Advanced Controls of Elmhurst, IL, USA.
"We are proud to be part of the most ambitious oil project currently under way in North America", said Mr Daniele Cecchelli, Remosa's General Manager and Director of Operations. "Syncrude Canada selected Remosa after a thorough technical audit of our quality assurance system. Remosa's design, engineering, manufacturing, assembling, testing and field service capabilities were carefully evaluated. This gave us a clear edge over our competitors." (April 24, 2001)
Remosa received an order to design and manufacture a flue gas diverting valve for AGIP's Sannazzaro de' Burgondi FCC unit. It will be a 304H stainless steel valve, SV 5804, inlet 66", outlet 60" and 48", designed to UOP project specifications. Delivery date: September 24th, 2001. (April 10, 2001)
Formosa Petrochemical Corporation issued an order for a set of spare parts for the slide, butterfly and diverter valves manufactured by Remosa last year. Parts will be shipped to Taiwan by the end of September. (April 10, 2001)
Remosa is sending a field engineer to Taiwan for the FCC2 turnaround at FPCC's Mai Liao refinery. Installation and start-up operations for a Remosa manufactured two-port diverter valve are also scheduled. (February 20, 2001)
Starting next week, Remosa will be involved in the FCC turnaround at CEPSA's La Rábida refinery, in Palos de la Frontera, Huelva (Spain). The maintenance order is for six valves, Exxon Process, originally manufactured by a Japanese competitor. (February 17, 2001)
Remosa will design and manufacture a spent catalyst slide valve (body and internals made of SA 387 Gr. 11) for Shell Berroise Societé de Raffinage, France. The new valve will replace an existing one at Berre's refinery. (February 17, 2001)
A field engineer from Remosa will supervise the installation, commissioning and start-up operations for two new valves at AGIP's Priolo refinery, in Italy. Both valves - a flue gas double disc slide valve and a two port diverter valve - were manufactured by Remosa. (February 17, 2001)
Remosa received an order from AGIP Petroli to design and manufacture two slide valves: a spent catalyst (34" outlet) and a regenerated catalyst (40" outlet), for Gela refinery. Both valves will use Bafco actuators. Also included are the modification of an existing two port diverter valve, which will require a new actuator, and a catalyst stand pipe. (February 9, 2001)
Remosa, with a team of 120 field engineers and technicians, is currently involved in the SARAS Raffinerie Sarde FCC-Expander turnaround. Scheduled operations include overhauling of:
Remosa will also provide maintenance for around 130 turbomachines for the FCC, Alky and blow-down units, including one expander gas turbine, two blower compressors (plus steam turbines) and two wet gas compressors (plus turbines). (February 6, 2001)
Testing crews have been quite busy at Remosa in the last five or six weeks. Several new valves have been successfully tested:
All these valves have been shipped by now. Together with Priolo's two port diverter valve - see photo - Remosa sent to AGIP's refinery in Sicily two outlet ducts (photos) which will connect the valve outlets to the by-pass stack and to the CO boiler. (February 1, 2001)
