The valves, designed and manufactured by Remosa, had been shipped to India last spring. (January 12, 2000)
A fresh feed slide valve and a flue gas double disc slide valve manufactured for Raffineria di Milazzo SpA successfully passed the hot stroke test at Remosa main plant in Cagliari. A third valve (recirculated catalyst slide) will be tested at the end of January. The three valves will be delivered according to schedule by February 28th, each with a complete set of spare parts. (December 28, 1999)
A planned set-up and calibration intervention on three new valves at the Petrox refinery in Talcahuano, Chile, gave Remosa a chance to successfully repair a flue gas double disc slide valve, hot wall design. This valve - by a competing manufacturer - was seriously damaged, showing body cracks and severe internal erosion. Remosa staff succeeded in quickly completing the repairs while the FCC plant was shut down for the installation of the new valves, saving Petrox a second, costly stoppage. (November 22, 1999)
Remosa received an order for a third valve for the Raffineria di Milazzo FCC unit. This will a recirculated catalyst slide valve, designed and manufactured according to technical specifications issued by ABB Lummus Global (job #09580). Spare parts will also be provided. Two more valves were ordered earlier this year. All three will be shipped by February 2000. (November 22, 1999)
The National Iranian Oil Refining & Distributing Company has awarded Remosa an order to manufacture five complete sets of spare parts for slide valves, hot wall design, for the Abadan Refinery, south-west Iran. (November 20, 1999)
Remosa will repair a flue gas double disc slide valve (hot wall design, 34" 3/4) for Motor Oil Hellas. The valve, originally manufactured by a US company, is for the Corinth refinery, in Greece. (October 29, 1999)
A scheduled intervention was recently completed on the 92-ton, Remosa manufactured two-port diverter valve at the Saõ Paulo-Cubatao Petrobras refinery. Actuator installation, mechanical and electronic calibration, final set up were performed on the giant valve. (October 25, 1999)
A field engineer from Remosa was at Shell Sa Berroise refinery (France) for a field service intervention which included installation of a single disc slide valve, with actuator. This valve, originally by a competing manufacturer, was repaired by Remosa last year. (October 25, 1999)
SK Engineering Co. has awarded Remosa an order for six new slide valves, cold wall design, with actuators, to be installed on the FCC1 and FCC2 groups at the Pemex's refinery in Madero, Mexico. Actuators will be supplied by Bafco Inc. of Warminster, PA, USA. Remosa will design and manufacture:
Earlier this year, the Sunkyong Engineering and Construction group had won a US$ 1.2 billion contract from Petróleos Mexicanos to expand the Madero refinery. (October 20, 1999)
Installation of five new valves and set up operations, with Remosa's assistance, were recently completed at the RECAP refinery, in Capuava-Mauá, Brazil. Remosa had manufactured a 66-ton two-port diverter and four slide valves for this new FCC unit for Petrobras. (October 20, 1999)
A field engineer from Remosa flew back from Taiwan after supervising the mechanical calibration of four new valves at FPCC's Mai Liao plant (Unit 1). The regenerated catalyst, cooled catalyst, recirculation catalyst and spent catalyst slide valves were all manufactured by Remosa last year. For each valve, the following operations were performed:
Four more valves (a two-port diverter and three butterfly ones - 66", 48" and 30") will be installed in October. In the meantime, FPCC's staff is at work on Unit 2, getting ready for installing four slide valve bodies on the piping. (August 9, 1999)
Austrian oil and gas giant OMV AG signed an order for Remosa to design and manufacture a new flue gas double disc slide valve, 30", for the Schwechat refinery, near Vienna. The valve must be completed and shipped to Austria by January 2000, together with a set of spare parts. (July 15, 1999)
Remosa will manufacture a complete set of spare internal parts for a flue gas double disc slide valve at the Refinería de Petróleo de ConCón, Chile. The order from RPC S. A. follows a successful emergency intervention by Remosa two years ago. The valve - by an US manufacturer - had forced a plant shut-down due to a trim collapse. After a complete valve overhauling, Remosa had recommended the provision of new internals to be able and use bigger bolts to fix the trim to the seating ring. (June 29, 1999)
Thanks to an innovative technical proposal, Remosa has succeeded in a bid to manufacture a set of slide valves, cold wall design, for the Raffineria di Milazzo FCC unit. The new valves will be specifically designed for upset conditions, to guarantee a long, trouble-free operating life. Technical specifications are issued by ABB Lummus Global (job #09580). The order by the Italian refinery also includes spare parts. Shipping is expected by February 2000. The existing valves were manufactured by one of Remosa's competitors. (June 28, 1999)
SHELL Global Solutions announced that Remosa is on their recommended supplier list and vendor guide for FCCU valves. The decision came after a technical review inspection at Remosa's shop in Cagliari. SHELL writes that "the overall impression of the company was very good. [Remosa has] very strong opinions about several design issues. They clearly indicated their preferences. [...] Discussion took place in a very pleasant but challenging way. [...] It is expected that Remosa can easily compete with the current recommended suppliers of FCCU valves". (June 17, 1999)
Assembling teams are at work at the RECAP refinery, in Capuava-Mauá, Brazil. Remosa has manufactured five valves for this new unit, including a 66 ton two-port diverter valve [see photo], a spent catalyst slide valve [photo] and a flue gas double disc slide valve [photo]. The FCC plant is expected to be ready for start-up operations in October 1999. In the meantime, Remosa received some positive comments on "Jornal RECAP", a monthly newsletter for the Petrobras refinery, reporting about a recent inspecting mission by Mr. Mário Malvisi [see photo and a brief excerpt, in Portuguese]. (June 16, 1999)
