Pemref - Yambu Al Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia. 1992 FCC Turnaround

PROBLEM: Overhaul four slide valves - originally not manufactured by Remosa - and replace their internal parts. The valves were still the welded body type, welded to the line.

SOLUTION: The intervention had been planned and prepared well in advance thanks to the excellent organization of Pemref. The customer entered the purchase order eight months before the turnaround. Remosa set up two containers with all the necessary equipment - including fixed and portable machine tools - to properly work on site. The existing parts on stock were successfully machined and modified to be adapted to the valve bodies which presented strong distortions. Due to the difficulty in hiring specialized local workers, the intervention was supervised and performed entirely by Remosa personnel (welders, machine tool operators, refractory lining applicators). The work was completed in 25 working days, based on two shifts of 12 hours each.
