PROBLEM: Overhaul five slide valves, originally not manufactured by Remosa. Approximately six months before the turnaround, YPF invited Remosa to a technical meeting to evaluate the situation. Pictures from the previous turnaround were produced, which resulted very helpful in planning well in advance the required repair work. YPF signed a lump sum contract, which also included the supplying of new internal parts for each valve and the removal and the subsequent application of a new abrasion resistant lining on valve bodies.

Moreover, Remosa was in charge of coordinating local subcontractors, local transportation of the valves (refinery-workshop-refinery), insurance and start-up.
TECHNICAL DATA:
SOLUTION: The repair work was performed at a local workshop, previously selected and qualified by Remosa. The internal parts on stock at YPF were checked to verify the current needs of the refinery. Remosa was able to manufacture all the internal parts even without the original manufacturing drawings, not supplied by the valve manufacturer.

The new parts were manufactured at Remosa's main plant, in Italy, and shipped semi-finished to the qualified workshop in Argentina for final machining. This last operation was performed once the valves had been removed from the line and the exact measurements had been taken.
WHAT THE CUSTOMER HAD TO SAY: "[...] We can recommend Remosa for their performance, punctuality and compliance with YPF requirements."
