Continuous temperature fluctuation in a catalytic reforming unit, due to the process operating cycles, generates high stresses in the valve body, which can cause surface cracking in a cast valve. The Remosa split-wedge valve is fabricated from forged material. This choice offers several advantages - higher material density, uniform structure and higher stress integrity.
The Split-Wedge is designed to resist the piping loads during unit Hot/Cold cycles when the valve body pushes against the wedge.
Wedge and seating ring surfaces are overlaid with Stellite in the contact area (seating rings / wedge and wedge / guides).
The valve stem is a one-piece forged shaft with anti-rotating device. No welded parts are added.
